Haven鈥檛 you heard? Thanksgiving calories don鈥檛 count if you run a turkey trot.
Despite the cold, biting wind Thursday morning, over 300 runners and their families came out to Patriot Park to participate in the 足交视频 Area Road Runners Association鈥檚 fourth annual Turkey Trot.
鈥淲e had a great turnout this year. When we started back in 2020, we had less than 100 people. Last year we had 176 runners come out,鈥 Tiffany Cheng, Secretary of the 足交视频 Area Road Runner Association.
Across the country, Turkey Trots are becoming more and more popular. Haley Daniel, who ran with her one year-old Husky mix Jojo, has run the Turkey Trot in Dallas for years, but this was her first time running the famous turkey race in 足交视频.
鈥淛ojo was the one who pulled me across the finish line,鈥 Daniel said.
When she finished she was greeted by her two cheerleaders, husband Paul Daniel and her two year-old son, Luke.
鈥淚t was fun to see them cheering me on at the very end,鈥 Daniel said.
Three-year-old Sage was also waiting at the finish line with his mom, Bethany Pompa, waiting for his dad, Dakota Pompa.
鈥淒akota started running to get in shape and get healthy. He鈥檚 also setting a good example for our son,鈥 Pompa said.
Sage was excited about the race and was even wanted to run alongside his dad. But he was eager to eat some pie afterwards.
鈥淩unning for fun is becoming more popular, especially with family. Today just shows how the community comes together and participates and gives thanks and is grateful for what they have,鈥 Cheng said.
The 足交视频 Road Runners Association is a non-profit organization that Cheng said loves to help and be involved with the community. The organization is looking forward to seeing more turkey hats and tail feathers out at next year鈥檚 turkey trot.
Today鈥檚 prize was a clear conscience as they gobble down turkey and stuffing and sample some pies.
