Two businesses in 足交视频 are remaining steadfast in their mission to give back to the community during the Christmas holiday.
Texas Seafood and The Water Well Caf茅 both took on different objectives in providing holiday cheer. On Christmas Day, The Water Well Caf茅 opened its doors from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. to provide chili and cornbread to residents throughout 足交视频. Owner of The Water Well Caf茅, Jennifer King, said the caf茅 had already served 200 people by 10:30 a.m.
鈥50 bags went to the homeless, 35 went to Bloomington and 25 to the Salvation Army, and we are still packing bags to serve to people,鈥 King said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 Christmas. This is what we鈥檙e supposed to do. We鈥檙e supposed to help each other. We鈥檙e supposed to love each other. People from the whole community came to help today, and they wanted people to know that they鈥檙e loved and they鈥檙e not forgotten during the holidays.鈥
During Christmas Day, Texas Seafood continued their annual event of feeding the homeless in 足交视频. On the menu was chicken, corn, toast, green beans and soup. The restaurant also gave donations of jackets and toys to children in need. Kayla Walden, head server at Texas Seafood who helps coordinate the event, said she was excited to see the amount of volunteers who came to support the event.
鈥淲e get a lot of people who fall in and want to volunteer. So we just take them down, and then they come and kind of just point them in the right direction of what to do,鈥 she said. 鈥淟ike right now we have them rolling silverware to go with all the plates and everything. And then once it starts, then we have more of like a conveyor just passing it down to each one. And then some of them, they鈥檒l take them out, and they鈥檒l drive around, and then they鈥檒l pass boxes out to people that they see on the street.鈥
Walden enjoys being able to give back to the community.
鈥淚t feels good, that鈥檚 why I keep coming back every year to do it,鈥 she said.
Texas Seafood has been serving the homeless hot meals every Christmas for 14 years, Walden said.
