The 足交视频 Independent School District (VISD) Board of Trustees passed a proclamation to recognize the 足交视频 Lions Club, founded in January of 1925, for 100 years of service to the community at its December regularly scheduled board meeting.
The 足交视频 Lions Club dedicates its time to helping those in need and bettering 足交视频 and its community, Mike Mercer, VISD Board of Trustees president, said. An emphasis of the Lions Club is placed on supporting the students of VISD.
鈥淭he VISD Board of Trustees want to recognize and pay tribute to the 足交视频 Lions Club for their 100 years of service by passing the following proclamation,鈥 Mercer said. 鈥淭he Lions Club International members bring hands and hearts to the community they serve in nearly every country on Earth. The Lions and Leos help hundreds of millions of people every year.
Lions Club International is the world鈥檚 largest service organization with more than 1.35 million members and 45,000 clubs across more than 206 countries and geographical areas. The 足交视频 Lions Club, district 254, will celebrate 100 years of humanitarian service on Jan. 17, 2025.
Members of the club volunteer their time to serve the 足交视频 community and provide aid to a multitude of causes across the region. The Board recognized and paid tribute to the organization for its century of service and positive influence on VISD and the community.
鈥淲e are so fortunate to have organizations like the Lions Club in this community,鈥 Mercer said. 鈥淚鈥檝e said it 1,000 times, when there鈥檚 a need in this community, [someone] always steps up, and the Lions Club steps up over and over again. We鈥檙e so fortunate, and the Board thanks them for their service, as well as all the other organizations in our community.鈥
The motion to pass the proclamation of recognition for the 足交视频 Lions Club was passed unanimously by the seven members of the VISD Board of Trustees. The recognition comes after the recent passing of 足交视频 Lions Club president Bryan Wisdom. He heavily impacted the community of 足交视频 through his continued service and dedication to the betterment of the region.
Wisdom was a teacher with VISD for many years before retiring and continuing to work as a substitute teacher for the district. He was the organizer of the Leos club, a Lions Club program that gives youth members the opportunity for personal development through volunteer service, at 足交视频 East High School, 足交视频 West High School and St. Joseph High School.
