Get out of the cold and embrace the beauty of mother nature indoors this weekend with the Nave Museum’s latest exhibit, Wildlife in Focus, which captures the beauty of wildlife not through the barrel of a gun but through the lens of a camera.
Wildlife in Focus is a non-profit initiated in 2000 with the mission to preserve and protect native wildlife and habitats in Texas by raising awareness. The organization’s goal is to engage people of all ages to experience the outdoors using photography which captures the natural and now fleeting beauty of Texas’ wildlife habitats.
The non-profit organization’s photography contest is unique. The team photo contest pairs photographers and landowners together, allowing photographers to take photos of nature on participating private lands during a 100-day window and giving to the landowner photos that capture the diversity of life on their land. Landowners and photographers not only benefit from this photo contest, but wildlife conservationists too.
Wildlife in Focus will be on display at the Nave Museum from Jan. 10 until March 1. It will showcase an arrangement of wildlife and nature photography from various photographers.
Admission is free and the museum will be open from Monday-Friday 12 to 5 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.
