The City of ×ã½»ÊÓƵ asked community members to provide feedback on the ×ã½»ÊÓƵ Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Move ×ã½»ÊÓƵ 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). The plan is a collection of recommendations on ways to improve the city’s transportation system over the course of the next 25 years.

The plan combines stakeholder input, collected data and previous plans that addressed safe transportation, public transit, economic development and other elements of the transportation system in ×ã½»ÊÓƵ, according to a City of ×ã½»ÊÓƵ news release.

The Metropolitan Planning Organization had previously collected input from local residents for the Move ×ã½»ÊÓƵ 2050 MTP in 2024. The full plan is available to read on the City of ×ã½»ÊÓƵ’s website and a hard copy will be available for public viewing during business hours at the City of ×ã½»ÊÓƵ Development Services office, 702 N. Main St., #129.

The first session was held on Feb. 3 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the second session will be held on Feb. 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Both sessions are being held at 702 N. Main St., #205.

In addition to the open house sessions, staff has presented/will present the plan at four public meetings. The plan was presented at ×ã½»ÊÓƵ County Commissioner’s Court on Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m., the ×ã½»ÊÓƵ Economic Development Corporation Regional Partnership meeting on Feb. 4 at 7:30 a.m., the ×ã½»ÊÓƵ Metropolitan Planning Organization meeting on Feb. 4 at 2:00 p.m. Feb. 4 and at the ×ã½»ÊÓƵ City Council meeting on Feb. 4 at 5:00 p.m.
