VICTORIA — Hugh Albert Turner, Jr., age 78, of ×ã½»ÊÓƵ, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Houston. He was born on February 6, 1946, in ×ã½»ÊÓƵ, Texas, to the late Hugh A. Turner, Sr. and Dorothy Allamand Turner.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Grace Funeral Home Reception Building, located at 2401 Houston Hwy., ×ã½»ÊÓƵ, Texas. The event will be informal, and attendees are encouraged to wear maroon or Aggie attire.
Hugh had a passion for traveling in his RV, fishing, and spending time with friends and fellow Aggies. He worked as a software and IT specialist for many years. He was an active member of the 12th Man Foundation, the Association of Former Students, and the Texas Master Naturalists. Hugh served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He married Patricia Prentice on December 7, 1968, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Hugh was a graduate of ×ã½»ÊÓƵ High School and Texas A&M University.
Hugh is survived by his devoted wife, Pat Turner; his sister, Marie Jones; his brother, William (Bill) Turner (Michele Gangnes); his cherished dog, Penny; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Virginia Turner, and several beloved pets.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dorothy O’Connor Pet Adoption Center.
