I wasn’t surprised by the peaceful ceremony Tuesday to certify the presidential votes for 2024. That’s how it’s supposed to be. Members of Congress can object, but the vice president can overrule them. We should never use this process to try to overturn an election again! Congress passed a law to prevent that in the future.
I’m also amused, but not surprised that Trump supporters are still trying to downplay the significance of J6 and the certification process. According to NBC, about 20 million people worldwide saw our Capitol being sieged on January 6, 2021, but Trump supporters are telling us not to believe our lying eyes. Trump supporters are now saying it was an inside job by the deep state after the accusing BLM, Antifa, and Democrats didn’t pan out.
Monday morning, a poster on the Bill Pozzi show blamed Liz Cheney for J6. Anyone, but a Republican or Trump.
I don’t know a Republican who watched the January 6 committee hearings throughout yet, they discard sworn testimony, depositions, and evidence coming from Republicans, Trump, staff members, cabinet, and counsel.
My opponents never answers the questions that I keep, asking such as: Where isTrump advisor, attorney John Eastman’s notes from the Willard Hotel meeting? That’s where the Trump team met to discuss ways to deny Biden the presidency…..Washington Post Oct. 23,2021.
The afternoon of January 6, 2021 surprised me, but I thought it would all be over in one hour or so, but then Ashley Babbitt was shot and killed. I thought that the commander-in-chief would immediately put a halt to the siege but he decided to watch it on TV for 187 minutes. Who does that? A couple of tweets were finally sent to the rioters telling them to go home peacefully. Pathetic!
I thought something would be done other than arresting about 1000 people for interrupting a congressional hearing , assault, conspiracy, and other serious offenses.
I was overjoyed when Nancy Pelosi formed a special committee to investigate the January 6th attack. I watched every hearing, and mostly Republicans came forward to testify. Some even gave sworn statements under oath. But a few refused to cooperate. The Supreme Court then stepped in and made a groundbreaking decision: for the first time, they ruled that a president is immune from prosecution for all their actions while in office. Can you believe that? The founders never imagined we’d have a president who’s a convicted felon.
The fact that the DOJ couldn’t pursue their case against President Trump and his allies because of this ruling is why I’m obsessed with the January 6th incident.
I just want answers. I guess I’ll have to settle for the release of Jack Smith’s report. I might be wrong, but I think Attorney General Merrick Garland outranks, the federal judge in Florida who temporarily stopped the report from being released.Maybe President Biden can override the temporary halt. He does have presidential immunity, after all.
